​A Community

​The Man Up Club is more than a program, it’s a community that offers hope, love, and leadership. Designed to influence inner-city youth and urban culture, the mission of the Man Up Club is to develop boys into young men of character. We do this through one-on-one and group mentorship, educational activities, teaching them, supporting them, and connecting them into the community . The Man Up Club teaches young men life skills, social skills and perspective that promotes self-respect and value, responsibility, community engagement, integrity, academic discipline, social responsibility, and anti-violence as well as, how to be an influence to their peers.

​A Fatherless Generation.

Millions of youth are growing up without a father in their home, many living without even one father-figure or male role model in their life. 85% of all youths in prison come from homes without a father. Youth without fathers who are involved are 75% more likely to drop out of school. 90% of all homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes.

An enormous amount of music and media consumed by youth daily is riddled with violence, hate, drug abuse, and many other harmful things. For many, this music is the only male voice(s) they have in their lives.

​There is a desperate need for male role models in the lives of today’s youth.

Meet the Founder

Mr. Dean has dedicated his life to bringing hope, healing, and opportunity to young people everywhere especially young men in the urban communities. Mr. Dean founded The Man Up Club as a response to the overwhelming need for leadership and mentorship in the lives of young, African-American males and the culture around them.

The core of The Man Up Club is simply for our young men to show up. Show up to school, to class, to work, for each other and to graduate. Every kid in our program is unique, gifted and worth investing in.”
